Shenai Johnston is a country music singer songwriter, hailing from the small town of Ongerup, Western Australia. Growing up in a close-knit farming community, Shenai developed a deep connection to the land and it’s stories, which have become a significant influence on her music. Balancing her responsibilities as a wife and mother of three, she has always found solace and inspiration in her music.

Shenai’s passion for music was evident from a young age when she started performing at local events and community gatherings. Her late mother would drive her around the state to try out for singing competitions, giving Shenai every opportunity to be heard. In her early adolescence, Shenai won a fender guitar at one of these competitions. This saw her begin lessons and learn to accompany herself, and further encouraged her songwriting.

After taking time away from music to raise her family, Shenai took a bold step and flew to Nashville, Tennessee in March 2024 to record her first EP of five songs. This milestone marked a significant chapter in her musical journey, allowing her to collaborate with world class musicians and producers in the industry. The experience not only honed her craft but also confirmed her deep passion and commitment to the Country music genre.

With her first EP to be released in July 2024, Shenai Johnston is now focused on getting her music out there and playing live as much as she can. Among other live performances booked, in October, Shenai will be opening for Beccy Cole in Beverley, WA, and playing at the three-day Mount Trio Music Muster from Oct 31-2 Nov. In 2025, Shenai is also looking to record more, and aims to release her first album.
